I heard a new song on MTV2 a couple weeks ago, ILLed the CD, and I gave it the first real listen in the car on the way to my rents' today. The album is Keep It Together by Guster. It's catchy, melancholy, poppy, and melodic. The singer's voice is reminiscent of John Linnell's but less whiny. The music has the multitude of instruments quality of Bright Eyes but is much less tortured. For some reason, it also brings Sloan to mind. I think "Careful" is my favorite track right now, definitely due in part to my recent heartbreak trauma. The only track I really didn't like was "Two at a Time" - it's about Noah's ark and has children singing: bleh.
