Sometimes the universe comes together:
Susan recently visited Colorado, which prompted my dad to send us some photos from an early-80s family vacation there, and then I noticed that Mental Floss is gathering embarrassing photos from readers' childhoods, so I'm posting this photo for everyone's enjoyment. The blue satin Members Only-style jacket is a requisite of the time, of course, and I'll throw in the unbelievably high-riding short shorts for free. Fashion before comfort, people! :)

They should design shorts with arm holes. Are you envisioning it? GENIUS!
I can totally see it, Kevin. Thankfully for everyone, it's been a long time since I owned any shorty shorts. :)
