Joe Stains and Tanner

DIE!!

So Boston Terriers are widely known as some of the cutest dogs in the world, and these two are no different. Joe Stains blogs about his life as an angry, old BT. His brother Tanner (AKA Doofus Face) occasionally creeps in as well. Joe and Tanner have some pretty hilarious photos to share and I highly recommend checking it out.

It wasn't very warm today but the sun was shining through the branches and it was simply gorgeous.

photo coolness

So, I got a message today alerting me that one of my flickr photos was featured at Quillblog as part of their Friday Photo series. Neat!

They've got a flickr pool called Quill and Quire, focused primarily on images related to the Canadian book scene.

My thanks to Quillblog for including my photo even though it isn't Canadian.

This photo was taken when we had the slightest bit of snow, on Wednesday the 3rd of January. I took it as I was getting ready to leave for work.

Sunday was really icy, too. This photo was taken looking out the patio door from the family room, looking across the patio toward the neighbors' back yards.

blue-eye

Kodak has announced a forthcoming technology which will make it as easy to reduce pet-glow-eye as it is to do so with human red-eye. This is brilliant! We could certainly use it, and I hope it (a) functions and (b) becomes as common as red-eye reduction.

It was dusk when I took this on the way home from work on Saturday and the flash kept blowing it out, so I turned off the flash and got these blurry-in-a-neat-way photos.

raindrops keep fallin'

It has been unseasonably mild so far this winter (or is it the new seasonable) and it has rained a lot. We were lucky enough to encounter only a short period of rainfall on our travels for xmas, and only right before we got home last night. It's a little weird not to have any snow for xmas, but I'm definitely fine with it.

Last Thursday the display bookshelf was installed around the column and our computer counter arrived. It has the wrong size legs (too short!) but those will be replaced with the proper size before it is installed. The paint is pretty much complete and the carpet should be installed in the next few days, I hope. After that the shelving will be installed and then we'll be nearly ready to go!

Day Fifteen

Day Fifteen

We have color! The beginnings of it, anyway, and the space is really coming together. I'm so geeked about how neat the colors look, and the space really has its own feel (which was my goal) already. This is just the first coats so some of the painted areas are still splotchy. I believe the painting will be completed today (Thursday). Coordinating the carpet and shelving has been slightly complicated by the upcoming holidays but I'm sure it'll all come together eventually. Our traffic has been extremely slow the past few weeks anyhow, so no worries.

After the slight delay, the drywall mud was completed on Tuesday. The shape of the clouds are really becoming apparent and I almost felt like I could see what it would look like.

Day Twelve

Day Twelve
Originally uploaded by annethelibrarian.
Monday was Day Twelve, and the drywall is almost complete. The crew is splitting their time between this project and another (in the sorting area), and yesterday they spent most of their time in the other area, so not too much happened over here.
