It's a bird...a giant oval shaped bird

We picked up my car today, yay! Apparently both of my front springs on the struts were broken? Yes, that is a question mark, not a period, as I don't really know what I'm taking about when it comes to cars. Luckily there was a recall on those parts so they were replaced for free (thank the appropriate power - perhaps the patron saint of busted vehicles). I also had them do an oil change which we did pay for, but that needed to happen anyway. Overall the people over there were very nice and fast. The dude called everyday to let us know the progress which was nice. And he was all apologetic about the delay to get parts, but that wasn't really necessary, as I didn't really care.

While we were driving to get my car back we saw a blimp tooling around. Apparently there is a Blimpery somewhere near here. Roland has even driven past it at some point or another (he doesn't actually remember where it is, or when he might have been driving there). Seeing the blimp caused a discussion about what you call the home of the blimps. Roland thought maybe a Blimp-port.

As a car guy I can say that is rather amazing, and disturbing, that the suspension spring broke. These are usually springs that are about 12mm in diameter and made of, naturally, spring steel. Spring steel is, by nature, a form of steel that is supposed to return to its natural state after a load has been applied. I would imagine that if there are suspension springs breaking there would have to be a recall on them. Thankfully you were not hurt.

Yeah, it was a tense ride to the dealership and it meant I didn't go do some of the stuff I was going to, but that was a terrible noise for a car to make. I'm glad I wasn't hurt either. What do the suspension springs do, oh ye of the car knowledge. Why did it only make that noise when I turned a corner. Also, the dealership dude was pleased I had brought the car in so soon after the problem occured (apparently other people would just drive around with that sort of thing?!?), so what would have happened if I had waited?

For the record I think the home of the blimps is actually the Blimp Depot. The term was coined by a young sheep herder who also spent much time thinking about the blimps which passed overhead.
