Everyone likes a parade

One of my favorite days at Disney this time was our visit to MGM on the first day of the Star Wars Weekends. Normally EPCOT is hands down my favorite, but this time MGM was pretty high up there. We didn't get to see the Lights, Motors, Action show this time, but that was because we decided it was simply to hot to sit out in the sun for that long. Plus MGM has the Fantasmic Show, which, along with the Living Seas are probably my absolutely favorite things at Disney.

It also being the Flower and Garden festival there was a cool Mickey topiary next to the sign on the way to the entrance. When you came into the park there were storm troopers watching over things (and heckling the crowd). I've heard that this is especially cool if you are one of those people who get there before the park opens and watch their whole act. We, however, are generally not those people.

I did insist that we get there in time for the morning parade. It was pretty cool, with a lot of different characters and led, of course, by Jedi Mickey.

The 501st Storm Trooper Legion (Vader's Fist) made a strong showing. Keep in mind that these people are just fans with sweet costumes. Rock star for a day! Due to shutter lag on my camera I didn't get pictures of all of them, but there were Storm Troopers, Sand Troopers, Jedi, bounty hunters and even an Ewok.

For the rest of the Disney supplied portion of the parade there were the usual suspects and some other cool characters.

I have a few more pictures that I will put up later and hopefully I will be getting a few more from Dad C. when he has a chance to send them!

One of these days I really need to make it down to Disney... I haven't been in well over two decades and it looks like a ton of fun. Glad you had a good time...
