For reasons I can't explain, I felt the need to make marshmallows.
I think they turned out pretty well, but I think the powdered sugar you need to shake them in (due to the extreme stickiness) makes them a little too sweet. I'll have to see what Roland thinks though. Do they make strawberry extract or something like that? I think flavored 'mallows would be nice.

They're good, too! I can't wait to have a bowl of homemade marshmallows for breakfast tomorrow.
Wows. I didn't know you could even make marshmallows from scratch. Weird.
They make all kinds of crazy extracts - qualityextracts.com has some wacky ones.
I'm a little confused by the Danish Pastry extract. Did they squeeze a whole bunch of Danishes? :)
If I can get my grubby little paws on some powdered marsh mallow root, I can make some olde fashioned ones too.
Marshmallow root! I didn't know marshmallows grew on trees? Or are they shrubs?
You domestic Goddess!! HOMEMADE marshmallows!! Who knew such a feat was even possible!!
And they turned out pretty well. I thought they were delicious. It's really all Dave's fault for watching the food network. It gives me all kind of crazy ideas.
