Beeeeeeeeeep
Normally I'm not one for flinging alarmist warnings around the interwebs, and people who have pets and a yard should simply be aware and plan accordingly. Choose your mulch wisely. This mulch is made from the by-products of chocolate making and I'm sure smells lovely. However it can prove a health risk to any animals who ingest it, and since it smells good chances are higher that they will be tempted to eat it. This ends your public service announcement. And no it's not.

I was actually aware of this since this is the mulch I used. I don't appreciate dogs and there shouldn't be any in my yard, so I didn't feel too bad about using it. It has not attracted any dogs, nor have my cats been attracted to it (I didn't think they would be). It does smell like chocolate for the first week or so, I wanted a big glass of milk when I was working in my yard! But thank you Susan, protector of dogs and other 4-legged creatures.
Mmmm... chocolate mulch :)
I wonder how long it'll be before people start using it as a mulch specifically to eliminate the nuisance dog from next-door coming over to leave "presents" in the yard.
