I recently got an email from a mail order nursery that I bought some plants from (for the house in Grand Rapids). It showcased this awesome black bamboo (Phyllostachys nigra).



Alas, it wouldn't survive in the heat down here, it's wicked expensive, I have no place to plant it, and this is a running bamboo so I wouldn't plant it anyway. A better choice would be Bambusa lako. It's gorgeous though isn't it?
