A little of bit of everything, a whole lot of nothing.

Yep, she´s gorgeous.
When we got Leon Dog Wonder from the dogs home he had a number of behavioural problems. It looks like he was abused (missing teeth, broken ribs, deathly afraid of cellars) and we think someone tried to turn him into a fighting dog as he was very antisocial with other dogs. He was always perfect with humans, children especially. I spent A LOT of time and energy working with him, with the help of a very good dog trainer and many books. He can still have moments with other dogs, so we can never fully relax our guard but I love the insights into his (and other dogs) behaviour that I learnt through that. In fact, at the time I was thinking of becoming a dog trainer myself, but you are mostly training the OWNERS to do things properly, not the dogs and I don´t think I have the patience for THAT.
Good on you for adopting a dog with um...quirks! I know that it is very hard to have the patience to work with those dogs, but it is rewarding in the end. Bleys and I train pretty much every day. It isn't a long time, but it is every day.
When I was helping with obedience classes it was always the owners who changed the most that had the dogs who changed the most.
