Endo

Ever wondered what the inside of a cranberry looked like? I didn't...until I was cutting some up to make Roland some cranberry bread (which turned out pretty well).

I saw a documentary on cranberries a while ago and they harvest them by flooding the field and thrashing the plants. Because of the air pockets inside the berries float. So they showed the inside of them then.

I found it really interesting, which just goes to show you how advanced in years I am, and that I'll soon been waving walking sticks at young hooligans doing things like TALKING. IN PUBLIC. Those youth of today, no respect I tell you.

Dr. J, your comment made me laugh. I appreciate that, I don't laugh nearly enough these days. I'll join you in shaking sticks at hooligans any day.

I've never seen a cranberry documentary, but I did know about the bog harvesting methods. Somehow (for once), this didn't lead me to ask why or how. I'm a bad (former) scientist.

Somehow I thought they grew in bogs, I guess because that's what they show in the juice ads. So do they grow on bushes, then? Which are planted in flood-able areas?
