Ogham
You scored

You are Ogham, an ancient alphabet used by a number of peoples in northern Europe and still in limited use by some people in Europe as a "secret language". You're all structure and tedious to use, but have outlasted all opposition so far and will likely continue to do so. Just don't expect to be liked.

Tarquin

A number of years ago I read a book called the Golden Compass. It turned into a trilogy of young adult literature (His Dark Materials) that I enjoyed immensely. It seemed to me a bit intense for some younger readers. It was a well crafted parallel universe which touched our world in certain places and that contained some very interesting differences. One of these differencs is that people in Lyra's (the main protagonist) universe have Daemons. Daemons come in the from of animals (usually of the opposite sex of their person) who change shape when their person is a child, but then settles into one shape as that person grows up. I was truly captivated by these three books and recommend them heartily.

There is now a movie of The Golden Compass due out in December of this year and I'm a little nervous about it given how much I enjoyed the books. In the mean time Anne recently found that at the movie's website, you can find out what form your Daemon would take.

This one time...

Because DrJ asked and it's fun:

Q: What breed of dog do you have?
A: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Q: How old is he?
A: He is 2 years old.

Q:What kind of science did you participate in?
A: I taught high school biology for three years.

Q: What are you doing now?
A: A fat lot of nothing. After moving I haven't gotten a new job. Most days I enjoy being a bum, but sometimes I feel a bit useless/not productive. I'm thinking about focusing on creating stuff for Annearchy.com (which is currently down so I'm not even going to make that a link).

Q:What brought you to Germany Florida?
A: Dave (my husband) didn't care for his old job, ok mostly it was sucking the life right out of him, so he did something about it. The result? A job he really likes and more time to enjoy himself.

Q: How long did it take you to adjust to the massive shift in weather from one to the other?
A: I haven't. I'm going the other way though. It is freakin' hot here all the time. Ok, there was that once when I put on long sleeves. I'm told that it takes a year and half before your "blood thins out" (technical isn't it?) and you adjust to what people here call cold.

Q: What sort of embroidery do you do?
A: Mostly cross-stich. I would really like to learn blackwork!

To infinity...

Yay, the posty bits are posting again. I wasn't able to publish for a while there. Kind of strange, but hey it seems to have worked itself out over night. Alas, not the same for me. I feel like I might be coming down with something, something like a head cold. I don't feel yucky, but my head is sort of swimmy and I ache quite a bit in the neck and shoulders region. I feel like my eyes and brain are not chatting with each other at the same speed. Oh well, hopefully it will go away soon.

Jason's last post was quite humorous and pointed me to this. I apparently am nerdier than 85% of the population. I'm pretty sure my knowledge of the periodic table of the elements was helpful and the fact that I do, indeed, have a favorite brand of calculator. I also own quite a bit of nerdy paraphernalia. Maybe someday I will own a telescope and my collection with be complete...oh but I really want a binocular microscope someday too. My real problem with the test was they didn't tell you what you got wrong! Yes, I am that much of a nerd to want to learn from my mistakes. Looks like it's a good thing I found Roland, because I'm not sure there are too many people who could stand to live with my level of nerditude. Plus he humors me with puns. I think they are hilarious (thanks Dad), but most people just don't know how to put together a really clever pun.

You can take charge of a situation when things get out of hand, and you're a great help to your partner even if they don't immediately see or know it. You are one classy dame. Your screen partners include William Powell and Cary Grant, you little simmerpot, you.
